Virtual Christmas Dinner 2020

Last Friday, December 18, the traditional ECBM Christmas Dinner took place virtually via Zoom. The highlight of the dinner was the Food Contest - our students baked and cooked a Christmas dish and sent photos of their edible works of art.

The winner of the Contest is Jiao Wang from Chengdu, China. Jiao started his baking adventure in 2016 when he was spending some time in Malaysia. During the past four years he perfected his baking skills and shared them with us for the first time during the Virtual ECBM Christmas Dinner. His Christmas cake was chosen by the majority of the Christmas Dinner participants as the most delicious looking-like dish. He was surprised and delighted when it was announced that he won the first prize, which is the Monopoly Züri board game. This world- famous board game will soon be flying from Switzerland to China to bring back Jiao's good memories of his stay in Switzerland.

He described his cake like this:

"This Christmas cake is decorated with Christmas strawberries and a Christmas wreath. In addition, the national flags of China and Switzerland are depicted on both sides of the cake, in the middle of these two countries' flags there is the abbreviation of the University of Zurich European and Chinese Business Management Program, which represents the ECBM program as the bridge and link that deeply connects China to Switzerland and Europe. Finally, the elk puppets holding hands in the lower right corner represent the peace and love of the people of Asia and Europe. Merry Christmas!"

We would like to congratulate Jiao for winning the first prize and share with you other dishes submitted for the contest below.

In spite of the fact that we couldn't meet personally this year to celebrate our traditional Christmas Dinner, we would like to wish you all of our ECBM community a lot of joy and health for the holiday season and a Happy New Year!
